Duet is Atelier No. 1's answer to 'but what if we both want to wear something'. Two C-shaped wearables, mirror forms in two sizes, each with its own motor zone, driven in sync or separately from one pebble remote. The remote's dial gives the person holding it a continuous control, and the person wearing each piece feels the cross-fade rather than a step.

They are mirror forms on purpose: the slim curve and the broad curve are the same object reflected and re-proportioned, which makes the set feel like a pair rather than a product and its spare. The charging cradle takes both side by side and looks like a small sculpture while it does it.

Why this piece exists

Duet's mirror forms are the whole idea. Most couples' sets are one product and its smaller sibling; Duet is one object reflected, then re-proportioned — the slim curve and the broad curve are the same line at two scales. When they sit in the charging cradle together, the symmetry is the product photography, and we have never needed to art-direct it.

The single remote is the politics. Two remotes means negotiating who holds which; one continuous dial means the person holding it is playing both pieces at once, and the wearer feels the dial's intent rather than a pattern. Sync mode locks them together; split mode lets the dial fade one up as the other goes down, which is the mode couples end up preferring and the one we did not put in the first prototype because we did not know it existed.

Who it suits

  • Couples who both want to wear something at once
  • Atelier No. 1 owners ready for the wearable version of the same idea
  • Givers of significant anniversaries

Who it does not suit

  • Solo buyers — the set is the product and the remote is half of it
  • Discretion-first households: the cradle on a shelf is a statement, however matte

Use and care

Everything we know about keeping it.

Before the first use

Charge both in the cradle, pair the remote (both power buttons, three seconds), and agree the dial direction before you begin — clockwise is more, and that convention prevents arguments.

Cleaning

Both rinses are IPX7. The cradle wipes dry; keep the charging pins clean with the dry toothbrush rule.

Storage

The cradle is the storage: both pieces sit in it, cables coil under the base, and it is unremarkable on a shelf by design.

Long-term

The cradle is the longevity argument: both pieces charge seated, which means no cable wear, and the pins are the only maintenance — the monthly dry toothbrush. The remote's dial is the same component as Fern's and ages the same graceful way. Batteries: the two wearables age in sync because they are used in sync — expect to retire them as a pair around cycle five hundred, which for most couples is a couple of years of good weekends.

Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.

About this piece

Can each piece run a different pattern?
In split mode, yes — the dial cross-fades intensity between them while patterns stay set per piece. Sync mode makes them move together. Couples find their mode in the first evening and rarely switch.
Is the cradle discreet on a nightstand?
It reads as a small sculpture stand: matte black, two shapes, no markings. What it is a stand for is visible only if you know the shapes.
