Swing is the simplest product we make and the hardest to make well. Rings fail in two ways: they pinch, or their motor housing is a hard lump in the wrong place. Ours is a wide, soft band with the motor set behind a polished grey stone inset — the stone adds the mass that dampens buzz and turns it into a low thrum both people feel.

It is the cheapest piece in the catalogue and we had the most arguments about it, because a cheap product with our name on it has to be better than the category's average cheap product, not just quieter. The stretch is generous, the removal is one-handed, and the stone is set cold so there is no glue line to fail in a drawer.

Why this piece exists

Swing's stone inset is the part people touch first and ask about second. It is polished grey agate, cold-set into the silicone — no adhesive, which is why the seam is flush and why the inset does not rotate — and its mass is the engineering: it sits over the motor and damps the buzz into a thrum that both people feel instead of one person enduring. Agate was chosen because it is hard enough to take the cold-set pressure and cool enough to the touch to never announce itself.

At $74 it is the cheapest piece we make, and the cheapest piece is where a brand's standards show. The silicone is the same platinum-cured stock as the $228 set. The band's stretch is tuned so removal is one-handed without a fingernail lever. And the coin cells are the standard watch size, because a proprietary battery on a $74 product is how a company earns a bad review it deserves.

Who it suits

  • Couples who want shared vibration without complexity
  • First shared purchases — the low-commitment entry to the chapter
  • Travel bags: no charging cable, coin cells, 74 g

Who it does not suit

  • Anyone wanting intensity — the stone damps as much as it delivers
  • Latex-sensitive users: the band is silicone, but check the whole ensemble

Use and care

Everything we know about keeping it.

Before the first use

Open the back of the stone inset with a coin, seat the two coin cells, and close it hand-tight. Test the thrum on your palm before use.

Cleaning

IPX7 — rinse fully. The stone inset seam is the crevice; cleanser and a fingertip, then dry.

Storage

Coin cells age on the shelf: pull them if the piece will sit unused for a season, and never store it with the cells flat — a dead cell leaks.

Long-term

The coin cells are the maintenance and the risk: a dead cell left inside leaks, and a leak in a stone-set product is a sadness. Pull the cells if it sits unused for a season. The silicone band takes a set if stored stretched — store it relaxed, flat in its box. The agate outlives everything else on the product; if the band ever fails, the stone is worth keeping for the sheer pleasure of having it.

Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.

About this piece

How long do the coin cells last?
About four hours of cumulative runtime per pair, which is longer than it sounds — sessions are measured in minutes. The spares in the box are the second year.
Does the stone get in the way?
It is the part both people feel — the mass turns the motor's buzz into a low thrum. Positioned right, it is the point of contact; positioned wrong, it is a pebble. The band rotates to sort that out.
