Vow is the set we build when someone writes to us and says 'it is our anniversary and I do not know what to buy'. It is a slim Aurelia-class device, a 50 ml dusk-stone oil, and a folded card — the card is blank, because the words are the giver's job and we are not touching that part.
The box is deep rather than wide, lined in burgundy velvet with three recesses, and the oil sits in a wax-sealed niche that you break on opening. That is theatre, and it is deliberate: an anniversary set should have one small ceremony in it, and breaking a wax seal is a cheap one that works every time.
Why this piece exists
Vow's wax seal is the only piece of theatre in the catalogue, and we argued about it for a month. The argument against: seals are gimmicks. The argument for, which won: an anniversary gift needs one small ceremony, and breaking a wax seal to reach the oil is a ceremony that costs nothing, works every time, and photographs like it was planned. The seal is real wax, hand-poured, and no two are identical.
The card ships blank on the reverse because we watched a focus group read a pre-printed sentiment and visibly deflate. A blank card with a fountain-pen-friendly face and a wax seal does the hard part — the occasion — and leaves the sentence to the person who knows the sentence. Our job ends where your handwriting begins.

Before the first use
Break the wax seal on the oil niche, charge the device, and read the card before you write on it — the paper takes fountain pen ink and most ballpoints; gel pens ghost.
Cleaning
Device: standard silicone care. Oil: same rules as Dusk Stone — nine months after opening, trust your nose.
Storage
The box is the keepsake: the velvet shows wear at the recesses after years, which is the point. Refill oil is available in the 50 ml size.

Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.
